(D) PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 30-FOOT LOW FLOOR DIESEL BUS
It is requested that Council approve the purchase of one (1) 30-Foot low floor
diesel bus from Gillig Corporation (Hayward, CA) in the amount of
$309,407.00. METRA will use this new to replace a unit that has exhausted its
useful life.
To accommodate this purchase as expediently as possible, the City is
?piggybacking? off an RFP administered by Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART)
in Tampa, Florida. The City?s Procurement Ordinance, Article 9-101,
?Cooperative Purchasing Authorized,? allows for participation in this RFP.
The RFP administered by HART, Request for Proposal No. 2003-07-01, is an annual
contract for purchase of various transit buses. Proposals were received on
November 13, 2003. Gillig Corporation was the successful vendor and entered
into a contract with HART for a 5-year period; February 2, 2004 ? February 1,
2009. The procurement process administered by HART meets the procurement
requirements of Columbus Consolidated Government; and Gillig Corporation has
agreed to provide one (1) 30-foot low floor diesel bus to the City under the
same contract.
Funds are budgeted in the FY09 Budget: Transportation Fund ? Transportation ?

(E) PURCHASE OF ONE (1) TROLLEY CONVERSION
It is requested that Council approve the purchase of one (1) Trolley Conversion
from Cable Car Classics (Healdsburg, CA), in the amount of $56,555.24. The
vendor will convert a Gillig 30-foot low floor bus to have the appearance of a
vintage trolley.
To accommodate this purchase as expediently as possible, the City is
?piggybacking? off an RFP administered by Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART)
in Tampa, Florida. The City?s Procurement Ordinance, Article 9-101,
?Cooperative Purchasing Authorized,? allows for participation in this RFP.

contract for Trolley Conversion Services. The Contract was awarded on April
2, 2007 and expires on January 31, 2009. Cable Car Classics was the successful
vendor and entered into a contract with HART. The procurement process
administered by HART meets the procurement requirements of Columbus
Consolidated Government; and Cable Car Classics has agreed to provide one (1)
Trolley Conversion to the City under the same contract.

(F) RISK MANAGEMENT SETTLEMENT
It is requested that Council authorize payment to Michael Diggs, Cordelia Diggs
and Montlick & Associates, P.C. in the amount of $20,000.00 to settle a risk
management claim. The claim, which occurred on May 26, 2008, concerns a Police
Officer involved in an accident with a private owned vehicle at the
intersection of Luna Drive.
Funds are available in the FY09 Budget, Risk Management, Uninsured Losses ?
Vehicle; 0860-130-3830-RISK-6842.01.
