Called Board Meeting Minutes
January 29, 2013
A called Meeting of the Community Development Advisory Council was held at the
Government Center Annex Building, 420 10th Street, January 29, 2013.
Members Present: Gloria Enfinger, Gladys Ford, Andrea Franklin, Sally Haskins,
Jack Hayes Kim Jenkins, Charles McDaniel, Marvin Moore, Carla Thomas, Olive
Vidal-Kendall
Members Absent: Clementine Cochran, Claudya Muller
CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Jack Hayes, Chair. A quorum was present.
The Minutes from the December 2012 Meeting were approved as presented. The
Board welcomed new Board Member Gloria Enfinger.
The Board reviewed and discussed the scoring results from the individual Board
Member?s reviews of the funding requests/applications for FY 2014. The
composite average scores were determined and the applications were ranked. The
Board reviewed and discussed the Entitlement budget staff recommendations for
FY 2014. The recommendations being proposed are based on the requests made
through the application process for Entitlement funds. The total amount of
funds available for FY 2014 is based on the funding received from HUD for the
prior year. HUD has not released the allocation amounts for FY 2014.
The Board discussed the process for applicants requesting funding to make a
brief presentation to the Board about their request/program. The purpose of
the presentations would be to give the Board a better understanding of the
organizations and their funding requests and to respond to the Board?s
questions about the respective applications. The presentations are to be no
longer than 10 minutes in length. The presentations will be made at a Called
Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2:00 p.m. at the Government
Center Annex.
