AN ORDINANCE

NO.



An ordinance amending the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for Columbus,

Georgia so as to amend certain sections of the Unified Development Ordinance of

the Columbus Codes so as to correct certain errors.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



Chapter 2 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 2.5.18.A.7 to read as follows:



7. Signage. No portable sign or billboards shall be permitted in the MROD.

All signage requirements shall be addressed in accordance with Article 4 of

Chapter 4.



Chapter 2 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 2.5.18.A.8 to read as follows:



8. Tree and Vegetation Preservation. Tree and vegetation preservation shall

be addressed in accordance with Articles 5 and 6 of Chapter 4.



Chapter 2 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting

Section 2.5.18.A.9 in its entirety.



Chapter 2 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 2.5.18.B to read as follows:

Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 3.2.12.A to read as follows:

Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 3.2.12.B to read as follows:

Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 3.2.72.I to read as follows:



1. Maximum Height Increase. Antennae attached to existing buildings or

structures other than towers shall not increase the total height by more than

20 feet.

2. Maximum Tower Height. Maximum tower height is indicated in Table 3.2.11.





Chapter 7 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 7.3.5.H to read as follows:



H. Plats Straddling Political Boundaries. Whenever access to a subdivision

is required across land in another governmental jurisdiction, the Director of

Inspections and Codes may request assurance from the City Attorney or the other

county to ensure that access is legally established, and that the access road

is adequately improved. In general, lot lines shall be laid out so as to not

cross-jurisdictional boundary lines.



Chapter 7 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 7.8.5.A.2 to read as follows:



2. All street names must be reviewed and approved through the Engineering

Department prior to address assignments in order to prevent duplication or

confusion with existing streets.







Chapter 9 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending

Section 9.3.5.C to read as follows:



C. Secretary. The Secretary shall be the Planning Director.





Chapter 13 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended

by amending the definition of Department to read as follows:



Department means, unless otherwise clearly indicated, the Planning Department,

successor agency or as designated by the City Manager.





Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended

by amending Table 3.1.1 to read as follows:
