COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 24, 2009
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY:
MERITORIOUS RESOLUTION:
Have the staff to prepare a resolution recognizing the staff and board
members
of the National Infantry Foundation to express our appreciation to them for
their
work on the National Infantry Museum project. (Request of Councilor Anthony)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:
AMERICAN RED CROSS:
Have the staff to air the information that was presented by
the American Red Cross representatives regarding the shortage of blood supply
at
the March 24th Council meeting on a constant basis on the Government
Access Channel to help encourage the citizens to meet the need of this shortage
in
our community. (Request of Councilor Davis)

PASS THROUGH GRANTS:
Have the staff to do some research and determine whether or not, the City
can get prior approval from an organization who we do the pass through grants
for before they are able to refinance, renegotiate or re-pledge property on a
loan.
Also, let?s make sure that we review board minutes in a timely manner for these
organizations that we do the pass through grants for. Let?s also look at
evaluating these grants in advance and if there are some that we feel are too
risky, let?s consider whether or not we want to approve them. Let?s also look
at putting some procedures in place to help avoid this type of situation that
recently occurred with 4th Street Legacy Apartments. (Request of Councilor

SECOND CHANCE RE-ENTRY PROGRAM:
Have the staff to look into the information on the grant funding that is
available for the Second Chance Re-Entry Program. (Request of Councilor
Woodson)

CVS PHARMACY PRESCRIPTION DRUG PROGRAM:
Have the staff to also look at the information that was provided regarding
the CVS Pharmacy Prescription Drug Program that is available through National
League of Cities. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES:
Have the staff to contact National League of Cities with respect to the
various
grant funding that is available for the different programs that have. (Request
of
Councilor Woodson)

SKATEBOARD PARK GRAND OPENING:
Have the staff to air the date for the grand opening of the Skateboard
Park on
CCG-TV. (Request of Councilor Woodson)
