REFERRALS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL
COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 15, 2015
TO THE CITY MANAGER:
TAX ALLOCATION DISTRICTS (TADs):
There was a Public Hearing held on the Mayor?s Agenda regarding the proposed
River District TADs. During the discussion, some Councilors made comments on
the possibility of the City recouping the property taxes after the
reassessments are done on properties after the new software is completely
implemented in the Tax Assessors Office. A request was made on the possible
amendment to be sent to the City?s legal counsel before it is to be voted on.

A request was made for information on the legal process regarding the
reassessment of properties. (Request of Councilor Huff)

AQUATIC CENTER UPDATE:
A request was made for a task force to be formed to help with the operational
costs. (Request of Councilor Henderson)

In addition to the referral made by Councilor Henderson, a request was made for
the task force to include representatives from the Muscogee County School
District Swim Teams and the Columbus Visitors Bureau for marketing. (Request of
Councilor Thomas)

TELEPHONE POLE:
It was brought to the attention of the City Manager that there is a hole
present in a telephone pole in District 4 (location was not disclosed).

FINANCIAL REPORT:
A request was made for a financial report to be presented to the Council at the
first meeting in January. (Request of Councilor Thomas)

TRASH PICK UP:
A request was made for the litter to be picked up along the River Road to
Mobley Road corridor. (Request of Councilor Davis)

LEXINGTON SUBDIVISION:
A request was made for an update on the buffer zone in the Lexington
Subdivision. (Request of Councilor Huff)
