SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Gazebo Way and that portion of Vine Street
located Arbor Pointe
Phase I AKA Baker Village
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to
Gazebo Way and that portion of Vine Street located Arbor Pointe Phase I, AKA
Baker Village.
Background: Gazebo Way and that portion of Vine Street located Arbor
Pointe Phase I AKA Baker Village, Arbor Pointe Phase I has twenty-four (24)
commercial lots. The streets have been improved and have met the specifications
for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Gazebo Way and that
portion of Vine Street located Arbor Pointe Phase I AKA Baker Village. A
description of the property is as follows: All those tracts or parcels of land
shown and identified as Gazebo Way and Vine Street on the plat entitled "Replat
of Phase 1A and 1B Phase 1 Baker Village" recorded in Plat Book 162, page 31,
Muscogee County records, said tracts or parcels of land being more fully
described on Exhibit "A".
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Gazebo Way
and that portion of Vine Street located Arbor Pointe Phase I AKA Baker Village.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO GAZEBO WAY AND THAT
PORTION OF VINE STREET LOCATED IN ARBOR POINTE PHASE I, AKA BAKER VILLAGE, ON
BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Gazebo Way and
that portion of Vine Street located in Arbor Pointe Phase I, AKA Baker Village,
a full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated October 13, 2009, conveying to Columbus,
Georgia, Gazebo Way and that portion of Vine Street located in Arbor Pointe
Phase I, AKA Baker Village, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of
Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in
the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A
copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this
resolution.
