A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Jonathan Klotz of Columbus High School and the Blue Devils' Golf Team
recently won the GHSA Class AAA Golf Championship in the tournament played at
Maple Ridge Golf Club in Columbus;
WHEREAS, the Blue Devils won the Championship trophy with a combined team score
of 288 at 4-under;
WHEREAS, Jonathan Klotz shot a 66 to tie for Medalist honors;
WHEREAS, Columbus High?s eleven-stroke victory marked the teams' best
performance of the season at Maple Ridge;
WHEREAS, the championship was the first for Columbus Coach Chris Parker and the
first for the Blue Devils? program since 1972;
WHEREAS, Columbus High?s Jonathan Klotz and other team members shot a 284 to
bring the total to 4-under 288;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Columbus Blue Devils? Golf Team are worthy
of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate the Columbus High School Blue Devils? Golf
Team: Jimmy Beck (69), Kevin Meadows (70), Jason Hobbs (79), and Medalist
Jonathan Klotz (66) Rhoades Sturkie, Jon Howard, Charlie Flowers, Will Johnson,
Cody Benn, Mason Bunn, Joseph Chong, Kane O?Bryan, Ben Hatala, Daviss
McKinstry, Carter Mauldin and Head Coach Chris Parker, Assistant Head Coach
Jerry Gunter and Junior Varsity Coach Stephen Campbell upon their victory in
the GHSA Class AAA Golf Championship at Maple Ridge Golf Club. Columbus is
proud of their accomplishments and we wish them every success in the future.
Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to each Blue Devil golfer and Coach
Chris Parker.
