SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Woodham Court and that portion of

Woodville Court located in Third Addition to Whitesville Walk



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Woodham

Court and that portion of Woodville Court located in Third Addition to

Whitesville Walk.



Background: Woodham Court and that portion of Woodville Court located in Third

Addition to Whitesville Walk has (21) Twenty-one residential lots. The streets

have been improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the

City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Woodham Court and

that portion of Woodville Court located in Third Addition to Whitesville Walk.

A description of property is as follows: All those tracts and parcels of land

situate, lying and being in the State of Georgia, County of Muscogee and City

of Columbus, and being known as designated on that certain map or plat entitled

"Third Addition of Whitesville Walk, Lying in Land Lots 62 & 79, 8th District

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" prepared by Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson,

Inc., under date of February 23, 2011, a copy of same being recorded in Plat

Book 163, Folio 21, of the records in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior

Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Woodham

Court and that portion of Woodville Court located in Third Addition to

Whitesville Walk.

















A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO WOODHAM COURT AND THAT

PORTION OF WOODVILLE COURT LOCATED IN THIRD ADDITION TO WHITESVILLE WALK ON

BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Woodham Court

and that portion of Woodville Court located in Third Addition to Whitesville

Walk, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 29, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia

Woodham Court and that portion of Woodville Court located in Third Addition to

Whitesville Walk be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is

hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office

of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto

attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
