TO: Mayor and Council

SUBJECT: Georgia Office of Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure

Protection Grant

INITIATED BY: Columbus Office of Homeland Security

Recommendation: Approval is requested to accept a grant of $250,000.00 from

the Georgia Office of Homeland Security for Critical Infrastructure Protection

and amend the budget through increasing the Multi-Governmental Fund 216 by

$250,000.00 of the actual amount funded.

Background: Funds have been allocated to the Georgia Office of Homeland

Security to provide equipment to be used in local jurisdictions for the

prevention of terrorist of related events and the protection of critical

infrastructure.

Analysis: Funding of this grant will vastly improve our ability to prevent

terrorist events and provide critical infrastructure protection.

Financial Considerations: The total grant request is for $250,000.00 and does

not require a local match.

Legal Consideration: The Columbus Consolidated Government is eligibility to

receive these funds.
