LIBERTY DISTRICT:



Have the staff to provide information on the status of the property at the

corner of 6th and 8th Avenue. (Request of Councilor McDaniel)

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN:



Have the staff to contact Columbus State University for some assistance

with the Comprehensive Plan. (Request of Councilor Turner Pugh)



Let?s have the staff to meet with some of the other city officials that

have experienced similar growth or increase in troops at their military bases

due to the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC). Also, we may want to look into

having two or three members of Council to be a part of the meetings that will

be held on the Comprehensive Plan. (Request of Councilor Allen)



Also, provide a time line of when the information regarding the scope of

work for the Comprehensive Plan would be made available. (Request of Councilor

Allen)



Have the staff provide information on residential, commercial and retail

infill and how the City plans to manage that growth. Also, let?s have the

staff to coordinate with established areas to make sure that these areas remain

planned environments. Let?s have the staff recapture those blighted areas that

could be redeveloped and provide incentives for developers to return to the

core of the City to enhance the area. (Request of Councilor Davis)



Have the staff to provide an update on the Seven ?C?s? that identified

other communities that are experiencing similar growth challenges. (Request of

Councilor Woodson)



Have the staff to set up meetings with representatives from other

communities that have successfully implemented Comprehensive Plans that have

been revitalized neighborhoods for the purpose of providing a presentation.

When the staff begins to set up meetings regarding the Comprehensive Plan,

let?s make sure that the members of Council are notified in advance of the

PRE-COUNCIL BRIEFINGS



Let?s have the staff to provide an agenda before the Pre-Council Meeting

of those items for discussion. (Request of Councilor Allen)

TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS:





Have the staff to follow up with Mr. Sam Wellborn regarding concerns that

certain road projects were fast tracked while other projects had to be pushed

back because of that. (Request of Councilor Suber)



Let?s have the staff check into the neighborhood sensitive design for

Forest Road. Also let?s have the staff check into the increased tuck traffic

on Forest Road. (Request of Councilor Turner Pugh)



During the peak time around 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., let?s consider having

a police officer at River Road and Veterans Parkway to direct traffic.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BOULEVARD:



Provide an update on the previous request for the staff to check on the

road condition of the entire roadway of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE:



Have the staff to check to see if the Muscogee County School District has

to comply with Unified Development Ordinance regarding tree density that was

adopted as part of this ordinance. (Request of Councilor Henderson)

BUILDING CODE ENFORCEMENT:



Have the staff to check the property at 2421 Pye Avenue to see if there

are any code violations, because the property is in disarray. Also, when the

Building Inspectors are traveling in an area, they should report any potential

structure violations. (Request of Councilor Woodson)



Also, let?s have the staff inspect the South Gate Apartments that is

located at the entrance of Fort Benning, because this property is in bad

condition. (Request of Councilor Woodson)
