A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, the Columbus High Lady Blue Devils softball team recently won their
first GHSA Class AAA state title at South Commons on October 24, 2009;
WHEREAS, the Lady Blue Devils defeated Northside 5-0 to claim the championship;
WHEREAS, Columbus finished with a record of 29-8 and advanced to the finals by
defeating teams from Creekview, Heritage-Catoosa and Northside;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Columbus High Lady Blue Devils softball
team are worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate the following membes of the Columbus High
Lady Blue Devils softball team their victory in the GHSA Class AAA state
championship: Syerra Askew, Olivia Austin, Jordan Brown, Lauren Coffield,
Raegan Gayles, Daniella Glover, Kristen Humphries, Alexis Jones, Octavia
Lewis-Rand, Liz Loncher, Alex McRae, Chandler Padgett, Bridget Quigley, Amanda
Stucky, Denisha Thomas, Ashley, Turner, Joy Beth Williams, Assistant Coaches
Brad Jiles and Hope Boswell and Head Coach Ron DiQuattro. Columbus is proud of
this team and their accomplishments and we wish them every success in the
future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-named
participants.
