SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Townes Way located

in Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department





Recommendation: Approval is requested of the acceptance of that portion of

Townes Way located in Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe.



Background: That portion of Townes Way located in Section Five, The Townes at

Sonoma Pointe has (19) Nineteen residential lots. The street has been improved

and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion

of Townes Way located in Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe. A

description of property is as follows: That certain tract or parcel of land

designated as an extension of Townes Way as shown on that certain map or plat

of survey entitled "Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe, Part of Land Lot

31, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia," as prepared by Hobbs

Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated March 15, 2018, and recorded in Plat Book 165, Page

241, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,

Georgia, to which reference is made for the exact location of said extension of

Townes Way conveyed hereby.



Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/Actions: Approval is requested of the acceptance that portion

of Townes Way located in Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe.











A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF TOWNES WAY

LOCATED IN SECTION FIVE, THE TOWNES AT SONOMA POINTE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,

GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Townes Way located in Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe, a full

description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends

acceptance by same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated May 15, 2018 conveying to Columbus, Georgia that

portion of Townes Way located in Section Five, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe and

the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have

said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior

Court of Muscogee County. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this

reference mad a part of this resolution.
