RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, the continued recession and tight budget conditions of the
Consolidated Government have led to careful scrutiny of any hiring of employees
for FY14;
WHEREAS, this Council desires to allow efficient use of government resources in
approving any personnel which are not currently budgeted at entry level pay
grades;
WHEREAS, the following policy shall remain in place for FY14 and subsequent
budget years as long as the current City hiring freeze is in effect.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby direct the Mayor and City Manager to get approval from the
Columbus Council for any personnel hired above Step C in any pay grade during
FY14 or as long as the current City hiring freeze is in effect. This Resolution
shall not apply to promotions of current employees.

held the 22nd day of October, 2013 and adopted at said meeting by the
