SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Lexington Lane, that

portion of Lexington Lake Drive and that portion of Sand Hill Drive located in

Section Six, Lexington Hills



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that

portion of Lexington Lane, that portion of Lexington Lake Drive and that

portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Six, Lexington Hills.



Background: That portion of Lexington Lane, that portion of Lexington Lake

Drive and that portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Six, Lexington

Hills has (53) Fifty-three residential lots. The streets have been improved and

meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Lexington Lane, that portion of Lexington Lake Drive and that portion of Sand

Hill Drive located in Section Six, Lexington Hills. A description of property

is as follows: All those tracts and parcels of land situate, lying and being

in Land Lots 4 & 5 of the 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and

shown as Extension of Lexington Lake Drive, Extension of Lexington Lane and

Extension of Sand Hill Drive as said roads and public right-of-ways are shown

on the map or plat entitled "Section Six , Lexington Hills, Part of Land Lots

4 5, 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", prepared by Hobbs

smith & Associates, Inc., dated March 30, 2011, said plat recorded in Plat Book

163, page 25, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee

County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested of a resolution accepting a

deed to that portion of Lexington Lane, that portion of Lexington Lake Drive

and that portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Six, Lexington Hills.













A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF LEXINGTON

LANE, THAT PORTION OF LEXINGTON LAKE DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF SAND HILL DRIVE

LOCATED IN SECTION SIX, LEXINGTON HILLS ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Lexington Lane, that portion of Lexington Lake Drive and that portion of Sand

Hill Drive located in Section Six, Lexington Hills, a full description of

property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

of acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated June 7, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia that

portion of Lexington Lane, that portion of Lexington Lake Drive and that

portion of Sand Hill Drive located in Section Six, Lexington Hills be and the

same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said

deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this

reference made a part of this resolution.
