(A) ROAD SERVICE TRUCK



It is requested that Council approve the purchase of one (1) road service

truck, via Georgia State Contract, SWC S-000627, from Allan Vigil Ford,

(Morrow, GA) in the amount of $41,336.98.



The road service truck is a replacement unit that will be used by the Fleet

Management Division of the Public Services Department. It will be used respond

to vehicle road calls where vehicles have broken down on the road or other

locations throughout the City.



Funds were approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: General Fund ?

Public Services ? Fleet Management ? Light Trucks; 0101-260-2300-VHCL-7722.

(B) EMERGENCY SERVICE TRUCK



It is requested that Council approve the purchase of one (1) emergency service

truck, via Georgia State Contract, SWC 3S-050483, from Allan Vigil Ford,

(Morrow, GA) in the amount of $33,580.00.



The emergency response truck is a replacement unit that will be used by the

Fleet Management Division of the Public Services Department. It will be used

to respond to emergency response vehicles, primarily fire trucks and

ambulances; that have broken down at a fire station, on the road or at a

fire/medical emergency scene.



Funds were approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: General Fund ?

Public Services ? Fleet Management ? Light Trucks; 0101-260-2300-VHCL-7722.

(C) PURSUIT VEHICLES



It is requested that Council authorize the purchase of twenty-four (24)

two-tone blue & white Crown Victoria pursuit vehicles, in the amount of

$495,096.00; and three (3) standard blue Crown Victoria pursuit vehicles, in

the amount of $60,147.00; and one (1) standard white Crown Victoria pursuit

vehicle, in the amount of $20,049.00, from Peach County Ford (Byron, GA).



The pursuit vehicles are replacement units that will be used by the Police,

Marshal and Sheriff Departments in the performance of their duties.



On February 26, 2008 Council approved the purchase of twenty-two (22) pursuit

vehicles from Peach County Ford, per Resolution No. 77-08, RFB No.08-0035. The

bid specifications required vendors to submit a bid price for future purchases

during the FY08 budget year. The vendor submitted a bid price of $20,629.00,

per unit, for the two-tone blue and white vehicle and $20,049.00 for the

standard unit, for future FY08 purchases; and has provided written confirmation

to honor the bid price. In addition, purchasing from this existing bid will

enable Public Safety Departments to receive vehicles sooner than the

alternative of waiting for a new bid process to be administered.



Funds in the amount of $495,096.00 were approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget

Amendment: General Fund - Police - Motor Transport - Automobiles;

0101-400-3230-MOTR-7721. Funds in the amount of $60,147.00 were approved in

the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: General Fund - Municipal Court - Marshal -

Automobiles; 0101-530-3000-MRSH-7721. Funds in the amount of $20,049.00 were

approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: General Fund - Sheriff -

Criminal Division - Automobiles; 0101-550-2200-INFU-7721.

(D) ONE TON DUAL REAR WHEEL CREW CAB w/8 ?? FLAT DUMP BED BODY



It is requested that Council authorize the purchase of two (2) cab and chassis

from Jay Automotive Group (Columbus, GA), in the amount of $46,304.00; and two

(2) 8 ?? flat dump bed bodies from Transport Equipment Company (Albany, GA), in

the amount of $14,256.00.



The trucks are replacement units that will be used by the Rainwater Division of

the Public Services Department to transport personnel and equipment to and from

job sites throughout the City.



On March 4, 2008 Council approved the purchase of a cab and chassis from Jay

Automotive Group, per Resolution No. 86-08, RFB No. 08-0030. On February 26,

2008 Council approved a 8 ?? flat dump bed body from Transport Equipment

Company, per Resolution No. 55-08, RFB No.07-0032. The bid specifications

required vendors to submit a bid price for future purchases during the FY08

budget year. Jay Automotive Group submitted a bid price of $23,152.00, per

unit and Transport Equipment Company submitted a bid price of $7,128.00, per

unit, for future FY08 purchases. Both vendors have provided written

confirmation to honor the bid price.



Funds were approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: Sewer Fund - Public

Services - Sewer Maintenance - Heavy Trucks; 0202-260-3210-SWRM-7723.

(E) FOUR-DOOR SEDANS FOR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS



It is requested that Council approve the purchase of nine (9) four-door sedans,

via Georgia State Contract, SWC S-050483, from Bill Heard Chevrolet, (Columbus,

GA) in the amount of $134,727.00.



The sedans will be used by the Police Department, Fire/EMS Department and the

Special Enforcement Division of the Public Services Department in the

performance of duties throughout the City. The sedans are replacement units.



Funds in the amount of $75,005.00 were approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget

Amendment: General Fund ? Police ? Motor Transport ? Automobiles;

0101-400-3230-MOTR-7721. Funds in the amount of $30,002.00 were approved in

the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: General Fund ? Fire/EMS ? Fire/EMS

Logistics ? Automobiles; 0101-410-3610-LOGI -7721. Funds in the amount of

$29,720.00 were approved in the FY08 Mid-Year Budget Amendment: General Fund ?
