SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Sable Oaks Drive-that
portion of Sable Court located in Section Five, Sable Oaks of Midland
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Sable
Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court located in Section Five, Sable Oaks
of Midland.
Background: A portion of Sable Oaks Drive and a portion of Sable Court located
in Section Five, Sable Oaks of Midland has fifteen residential lots. The
streets have been improved and have met the specifications for acceptance by
the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of Sable
Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court located in Section Five, Sable Oaks
of Midland. A description of the property is as follows: All those lots,
tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Part of Land Lot 27, 18th
District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as Sable Court and
extension of Sable Oaks Drive as said roads and public right-of-way are shown
on the map or plat entitled "Section Five, Sable Oaks of Midland, Part of Land
Lot 27, 18th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" , dated August 9,
2011, prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc. and recorded in Plat Book 163,
page 106, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,
Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Sable
Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court located in Section Five, Sable Oaks
of Midland.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF SABLE OAKS
DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF SABLE COURT LOCATED IN SECTION FIVE SABLE OAKS OF
MIDLAND, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of
Sable Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court located in Section Five Sable
Oaks of Midland, a full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated October 11, 2011, conveying to Columbus,
Georgia, that portion of Sable Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court
located in Section Five Sable Oaks of Midland, be and the same is hereby
accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded
in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee
County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a
part of this resolution.
