CALL TO ORDER & INTRODUCTIONS

Reather Hollowell gave overview of responsibilities and duties of the committee

members including its mission statement and asked members to think about

someone to be the committee chairperson.



AGENDA AND DISCUSSIONS



? Mayor?s Remarks: Mayor Tomlinson stated she was glad to see that the

Employee Benefits Committee was formed to engage in city government and its

healthcare benefits. Mayor Tomlinson asked the committee to function in a

capacity to inform and educate employees, as well as be a vehicle to brainstorm

new ideas. She asked the committee to make recommendations on policy, and be a

conduit for weighing in on benefits and costs.



? Overview of Health Insurance: Kathy Showers, Northwestern Benefit Corp.,

provided an in-depth overview of the CCG?s health benefits to include

organization of health plan, current benefits, claim reports, healthcare reform

and how the Health and Wellness Center fits into the overall healthcare plan.



? Health and Wellness Center Update: Reather Hollowell provided additional

statistics on the Health and Wellness Center stating that 500 employees have

signed up for the Health and Wellness Center and when dependents are added the

total participation is more than 1,000. There are 250 employees enrolled in

the TOP program and patient satisfaction surveys have been 100% satisfied.



? Other Business: Reather Hollowell proposed a meeting calendar for the

remainder of 2013 and 2014. The committee voted to meet quarterly on the 4th

Wednesday at 10:00AM, except that the December meeting will be on the 1st

Wednesday of the month. Potential topics for the next meeting include

discussion on the 457 supplemental retirement program and health premium

changes.



? There being no further business, a motion was made to adjourn.
