An Ordinance authorizing ?working spouse? eligibility for coverage in the
Columbus Consolidated Government Employee/Retiree Self Funded Medical Benefit
Plan conditioned upon payment of a monthly unsubsidized working spouse
surcharge approved by the Finance Director based upon benefit consultant
recommendations; replacing applicable chart in FY15 Budget Ordinance; and for
other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Ordinance No. 14-25 is hereby amended by deleting Section 31 in its
entirety and by substituting a new Section 31 to read as follows:

SECTION 2.
Ordinance No. 14-25 is hereby amended by deleting Section 32 in its entirety
and by substituting a new Section 32 to read as follows:

SECTION 32.
Effective with the plan year beginning January 1, 2015, any ?working spouse?
shall be eligible for coverage in the Columbus Consolidated Government
Employee/Retiree Self Funded Medical Benefit Plan conditioned upon payment of a
monthly surcharge approved by the Finance Director based upon benefit
consultant recommendations. For purposes of this Ordinance, ?working spouse?
shall mean spouses of employees and non-Medicare retirees who have access to an
employment based health benefit plan as defined by the Affordable Care Act.
The dental and vision coverage is fully funded by employee premiums. Employees
may continue to include ?working spouses? on these insurance plans without any
additional premium.?
SECTION 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
