SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Mockernut Way located in Section Two,
Hickory Grove
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to
Mockernut Way located in Section Two, Hickory Grove.
Background: Mockernut Way located in Section Two, Hickory Grove has Seventeen
(17) residential lots. The street has been improved and meets the
specifications for for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Mockernut Way located
in Section Two, Hickory Grove. A description is as follows: All of the roads
lying within that tract or parcel of land, lying and being in Land Lot 93 of
the 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being shown and
designated on that certain plat of survey for Section Two Hickory Grove dated
7, January 2016 and prepared by Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., civil
engineers, and bearing the certificate and seal of Jefferson W. Keefe, RLS
#2787, as recorded in Plat Book 164, Page 338, Records of the Clerk of Superior
Court, Muscogee County, Georgia, which plat is incorporated herein and made a
part hereof by this reference.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right of way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve acceptance of a deed to Mockernut Way
located in Section Two, Hickory Grove.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF MOCKERNUT WAY LOCATED IN SECTION
TWO, HICKORY GROVE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying
Mockernut Way located in Section Two, Hickory Grove, a full description of
property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated February 12, 2016, conveying to Columbus, Georgia,
Mockernut Way located in Section Two, Hickory Grove, and the same is hereby
accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded
in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee
County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of
this resolution.
