SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Antietam Drive and that

portion of

Lexington Lake Drive located in Section Eight, Lexington Hills



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approve the acceptance of a deed to that portion of Antietam

Drive and that portion of Lexington Lake Drive located in Section Eight,

Lexington Hills.



Background: Approve the acceptance of that portion of Antietam Drive and that

portion of Lexington Lake Drive located in Section Eight, Lexington Hills has

thirty-two (32) residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the

required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Antietam Drive and that portion of Lexington Lake Drive located in Section

Eight, Lexington Hills. A description of the property is as follows: All those

lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Land Lots 4 & 5 of the 7th

District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as Lexington Lake Drive

and Extension of Antietam Drive as said roads and public right-of-ways are

shown on the map or plat entitled "Section Eight, Lexington Hills, Part of Land

Lots 4 & 5, 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", prepared by

Hobbs Smith & Associates, Inc., dated July 14, 2009, said plat recorded in Plat

Book 162, pages 117-118, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of a deed to that portion of

Antietam Drive and that portion of Lexington Lake Drive located in Section

Eight, Lexington Hills.

















A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF ANTIETAM

DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF LEXINGTON LAKE DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION EIGHT,

LEXINGTON HILLS, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Antietam Drive and that portion of Lexington Lake Drive located in Section

Eight, Lexington Hills, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 7, 2010, conveying to Columbus, Georgia

that portion of Antietam Drive located in Section Eight, Lexington Hills be and

the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have

said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this

reference made a part of this resolution.
