A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO ALLOW FOR A PLACE OF WORSHIP
WITH MORE THAN 250 SEATS LOCATED AT 5301 SIDNEY SIMONS BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, Rock Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Columbus, Inc. has requested a
Special Exception for a place of worship with more than 250 seats within the GC
(General Commercial) zoning district;
WHEREAS, place of worship with more than 250 seats is permitted solely as a
Special Exception Use under the current GC (General Commercial) zoning
district;
WHEREAS, the Planning Department and Planning Advisory Commission have reviewed
the request and recommended approval, respectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That all the criteria of Section 10.2.7.B of the Unified Development
Ordinance have been properly met and a Special Exception Use to allow the
operation of a place of worship with more than 250 seats is granted for the
properties located at 5301 Sidney Simons Boulevard, otherwise known as parcel
#070-030-007.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the
10th day of November, 2015, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
of members of said Council.
