TO THE CITY ATTORNEY:



MERITORIOUS RESOLUTIONS



Have the staff to prepare a resolution from the Council honoring Mr. Dorian

Henderson of Columbus High School, who this past weekend won the 171 pound

weight class State wrestling championship, as well as a resolution honoring Mr.

Nick Burks of Hardaway who won the 189 pound weight class in the State

wrestling championship. Also, bring back a resolution honoring the individual

who won the Spelling Bee. (Councilor Hunter)



Let?s check with the other schools to get a listing of those individuals

who also placed second and third in the State wrestling championship and let?s

recognize them as well. (Councilor Woodson)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:



PROPOSED REZONING ON SUSAN LANE:



Have the staff to go out and check the property located around this

proposed

rezoning at 1706 Hoffman Drive to determine where the water run-off is

occurring

and why. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

SIDEWALKS ON SUSAN LANE:



Have the staff to go out and look into the concern of the citizen who

lives on Susan Lane, which stated that there are no sidewalks within the

one-mile radius of the three schools located in that area. (Request of

Councilor Woodson)



Also, let?s make sure that when we have new development coming into the

community and if it is near a school, we need to ensure that there is a

partnership either between the developer and/or city or school system to make

sure

there are sidewalks for those children who walk to school. (Request of Councilor

Woodson)

METRA TRANSPORTATION:



Prior to any holiday closing for the Columbus Consolidated Government,

let?s

have the staff to provide notice through CCG-TV to the public, as well as the

news media, to let them know that Metra Transportation will be running on

Columbus Day, as well as any other holiday, but will run a Saturday schedule.

FREE HEALTH SCREENING:



Have the staff to air the information on CCG-TV regarding the Urban

League?s free health screenings. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

TO THE BUDGET CHAIRPERSON:



Let?s also look at putting some additional funding aside for sidewalk

construction. (Request of Councilor Woodson)



Have the staff to provide to the Budget Chairperson, a list of all those

telephone calls that have come in as it relates to sidewalks and determine how

many miles we are talking about paving for sidewalks. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem

Turner Pugh)
