A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO OPERATE A DAY CARE, TYPE III
ASSOCIATED TO A CHURCH IN A RE1 (RESIDENTIAL ESTATE 1) ZONING DISTRICT LOCATED
AT 7230 FLATROCK ROAD.

WHEREAS, W. Perrin Nicolson has appropriately applied for a Special Exception
Use to operate a Day Care, Type III (more than 18 clients) associated to a
church (House of God) on the subject property;
WHEREAS, Day Care, Type III (more than 18 clients) associated to a church
(House of God), is permitted solely as a Special Exception Use under the
current RE1 (Residential Estate 1) zoning district;
WHEREAS, the Planning Department has reviewed the request and recommends
Conditional Approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That all the criteria of Sections 3.2.25 and 10.2.7.B of the Unified
Development Ordinance have been properly met and a Special Exception Use to
allow the operation of a Day Care, Type III (more than 18 clients) is granted
for the property located at 7230 Flatrock Road.
? A special exception use is granted for the subject property with the
following conditions:
1) Buffers shall be required along all public right-of-way, including the Fall
Line Trace, subject to the approval of the City Arborist and Inspections and
Code Department.
2) Parking shall be reviewed and approved by the Traffic Engineering and
Planning Departments before the construction of each phase.
3) A traffic study may need to be completed before construction of phase II
and III.

12th day of August, 2014, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
of members of said Council.
