SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Chattsworth Court located off Chattsworth
Road
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the Acceptance of a deed to
Chattsworth Court located off Chattsworth Road.
Background: Chattsworth Court located off Chattsworth Road has three (3)
commercial lots. The street has been improved and meets the required
specifications for acceptance by the City. The street was built by the
Development Authority under County Contract with Georgia DOT. The street was
constructed over two (2) years ago, therefore requires no maintenance bond.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Chattsworth Court
located off Chattsworth Road. A description of the property is as follows: All
that lot, tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia, designated as Chattsworth Court," as shown upon a map
or plat entitled "Replat of Tract 3A-1 for R/W Dedication, Lying in Land Lot
100 & 101, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia," prepared by
Jordan, Jones & Goulding, Inc., dated June 17, 2009, and recorded in Plat Book
162, Page 114, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County,
Georgia.
Financial Considerations: The street was constructed over two (2) years ago,
therefore requires no maintenance bond. The City will assume maintenance of
this street when accepted.
Legal Considerations: In accordance with section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to
Chattsworth Court located off Chattsworth Road.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO CHATTSWORTH COURT LOCATED
OFF CHATTSWORTH ROAD ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Chattsworth
Court located off Chattsworth Road, a full description of property on said
deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meet the required specifications for
acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated August 18, 2010, conveying to Columbus,
Georgia, Chattsworth Court located off Chattsworth Road, be and the same is
hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed
recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee
County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this reference
made a part of this resolution.
