SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Thicket Court, Coppice Court and that

portion of Coppice Drive located in Lakes Phase Thirteen, Garrett Creek



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department





Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Thicket

Court, Coppice Court and that portion of Coppice Drive located in Lakes Phase

Thirteen, Garrett Creek.



Background: Thicket Court, Coppice Court and that portion of Coppice Drive

located in Lakes Phase Thirteen, Garrett Creek has Twenty-nine residential

lots. The streets have been improved and have met the specifications for

acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Thicket Court,

Coppice Court and that portion of Coppice Drive located in Lakes Phase

Thirteen, Garrett Creek. A description of the property is as follows: Those

certain tracts or parcels of land designated as the extension of Coppice Drive,

Coppice Court and Thicket Court, all lying in Land Lot 160, 9th District,

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, as shown upon a map or plat of survey

entitled "Lakes Phase Thirteen, Garrett Creek Subdivision, Part of Land Lt 160,

9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith &

Assoc., Inc., dated August 14, 2013, and recorded in Plat Book 164, Page 73, in

the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, to

which reference is made for the exact location of said streets conveyed hereby.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of Thicket Court, Coppice

Court and that portion of Coppice Drive located in Lakes Phase Thirteen,

Garrett Creek.











A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO COPPICE COURT, THICKET

COURT AND THAT PORTION OF COPPICE DRIVE LOCATED IN LAKES PHASE THIRTEEN,

GARRETT CREEK ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Coppice Court,

Thicket Court and that portion of Coppice Drive located in Lakes Phase

Thirteen, Garret Creek, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated March 14, 2014, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, Coppice

Court, Thicket Court and that portion of Coppice Drive located in Lakes Phase

Thirteen, Garret Creek, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of

Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in

the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy

is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
