SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Gallant Drive, that portion of

Capot Drive and that

portion of Admiral Drive location in Section One, Midland Downs



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department





Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Gallant

Drive, that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive location

in Section One, Midland Downs.



Background: Gallant Drive, that portion of Capot Drive and that portion

of Admiral Drive location in Section One, Midland Downs has Thirty-seven (37)

residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the specifications

for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Gallant Drive, that

portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive location in Section

One, Midland Downs. A description of property is as follows: The street in

Midland Downs Section One identified as Gallant Drive, Capot Drive and Admiral

Drive on the plat titled "Midland Downs Section One" Part of Land Lot 158, 9th

District, Muscogee County, Georgia dated 6 April 2015, prepared by Moon, Meeks,

Mason & Vinson, Inc., recorded in Plat Book 164, Page 243, Muscogee County,

Georgia Records.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right of way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of a deed to Gallant Drive,

that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive location in

Section One, Midland Downs.













A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO GALLANT DRIVE, THAT

PORTION OF CAPOT DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF ADMIRAL DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION

ONE, MIDLAND DOWNS ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Gallant Drive,

that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in

Section One, Midland Downs, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance of same; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 30, 2015, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, Gallant

Drive, that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in

Section One, Midland Downs, and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of

Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in

the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy

is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
