A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA (?the Council?) AUTHORIZING
THE USE OF GOVERNMENT PURCHASING OR CREDIT CARDS BY CERTAIN DESIGNATED ELECTED
OFFICIALS AND APPROVING THE COLUMBUS CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT (?CCG?)
PURCHASING/CREDIT CARD PROGRAM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AS REVISED EFFECTIVE
JANUARY 1, 2016.
WHEREAS, Georgia law prohibits a consolidated government from issuing
purchasing and credit cards to elected officials unless the governing authority
of the consolidated government has authorized such issuance and has promulgated
policies regarding their use as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, such purchasing /credit cards shall only be issued to elected
officials designated by the governing authority; and
WHEREAS, in order to comply with O.C.G.A.?36-80-24, the Council desires to
authorize certain elected officials to be issued a CCG Purchasing /Credit card
and to approve the CCG Purchasing/Credit Card Program Policies and Procedures
dated as of January 1, 2016 and attached as Exhibit A to this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES: that the
CCG/Purchasing Credit Card Program Policies and Procedures set forth in Exhibit
A to this Resolution are approved. These policies and procedures including the
Cardholder Agreements contained therein are issued in accordance with Ordinance
No. 09-24, as it may hereafter be amended, and will govern all Columbus,
Georgia and Muscogee County elected officials and their employees, as well as
all other CCG officials and employees who are issued CCG Purchasing/Credit
Cards pursuant to the CCG Purchasing/Credit Card Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council by public vote, designates the
following Columbus and Muscogee County Elected Officials to receive CCG
Purchasing/Credit Cards for themselves or such staff as they may designate and
approves the form Cardholder Agreements contained in Exhibit A for use in
issuing cards to the following elected officials:
Mayor
Members of the Columbus Council
District Attorney
Solicitor General
Superior Court Judges
Clerk of Superior Court
Sheriff
Probate Court Judge
State Court Judges
Municipal Court Judge
Tax Commissioner
Coroner
This Resolution shall become effective January 1, 2016.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
8th day of December, 2015, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
