I. SIDEWALK VARIANCE-MEDICAL REALTY GROUP NORTH, L.L.C.:



Approval is requested to authorize a variance to City Code Section 7.10.1 for

the development at 6596 Whittlesey Boulevard to allow the sidewalk construction

be delayed until development of the sidewalks along the properties adjoining

Medical Realty Group North, LLC Property by the City or by the adjacent

property owners is undertaken. The staff does not recommend a delay in sidewalk

installation.





II. DEPARTMENT OF DRIVER SERVICES - MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING:



Approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to enter into a Memorandum

of Understanding (MOU) with Georgia Department of Driver Services for paving

and striping of parking lots and tests courses located at the facilities on US

80.





III. FIRE/EMS SALARY SAVINGS:



Approval is requested to transfer $350,000 of the FY16 Fire and EMS salary

savings to Department of Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services FY17

budget for burn building land prep, control room and open pavilion for state

required training.







IV. CONTRACT BETWEEN CCG & BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF

GEORGIA:



Approval is requested to have the Board of Regents of the University System of

Georgia, acting on behalf of University of Georgia Cooperative Extension

Service, and Columbus Consolidated Government enter into a contract for the

salary of Anne Randle, County Extension Agent.

V. COLUMBUS FIRE/EMS STRATEGIC PLAN/STANDARDS OF COVER UPDATE:



Approval is requested for approval of the Columbus Department of Fire and

Emergency Medical Services Strategic Plan/Standard of Cover that will be

updated annually. The updated Strategic Plan will be forwarded to the Mayor,

City Council and City Manager?s Office.





VI. KNIGHT CITIES CHALLENGE GRANT ACCEPTANCE:



Approval is requested to apply for and accept, if awarded, a grant from the

John S. and James L. Knight foundation in the amount of $6,900.00, or as

otherwise awarded, with no local match required, for the purpose of

implementing the urban glens project, and to amend the multi-governmental fund

by the amount of the award.





VII. FY16 EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT:



Approval is requested to submit an application and accept, if awarded, an

Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance (JAG) grant for the Federal Fiscal

Year 2016 solicitation in the amount of $93,124, or as otherwise awarded, with

no local match requirement, to be used by eligible departments as follows:

Columbus Police Department - $48,934, Juvenile Drug Court - $14,190, and Adult

Drug Court - $30,000, for eligible projects as defined in the grant, and to

amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the award.





VIII. FY17 INMATE CAPACITY AGREEMENT:



Approval is requested to enter into an Inmate Capacity Agreement with the

Georgia Department of Corrections for a minimum of 528 State inmates to be

housed at the Muscogee County Prison.





IX. PURCHASES:



Approval is requested of items "A" thru "B":



A. Dodge Charger Pursuit Vehicles-Georgia Statewide Contract

B. Storing, Transporting & Recycling Waste Tires





X. PRESENTATION AND UPDATE:

1. Forrest Road Improvements: Floyd Road to Schatulga Road ? RFB No. 16-0036

Scope of Bid

Provide construction services to widen 2.21 miles of Forrest Road, from Floyd

Road to Schatulga Road. All work shall be performed in accordance with

standard specifications of the Georgia Department of Transportation, current

edition, as approved by the Federal Highway Administration.
