AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance amending the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for Columbus,

Georgia so as to amend certain sections of the Unified Development Ordinance of

the Columbus Codes so as to alter the definition of Cultural Facilities and

change or alter the Permitted use table to allow for Cultural Facilities within

the Zoning districts of LMI (Light Manufacturing and Industrial) and RO

(Residential Office).

COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



Section 13.1.1 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by

altering the definition of Cultural Facility to read as follows:



Cultural Facility Means: a public, private, or not for profit facility that

provides for the display, performance, or enjoyment of heritage, history, arts,

or nature. This use includes but is not limited to: museums, arts performances

venues, cultural centers, interpretive sites, libraries, museums, or botanical

gardens, but does not include commercially-operated theaters.



SECTION 2.



Amend the permitted use table 3.1.1 to allow for Cultural Facilities to be

placed within LMI and RO Zoning Districts.



SECTION 3.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are

hereby repealed.
