I. FEDERAL COURTHOUSE/POST OFFICE - ENCROACHMENT:
Authorization is requested of a variance and permanent encroachment
into 2nd Avenue right-of-way for a dumpster pad, black steel fencing,
landscaping, security gate controls and bollards adjacent to the Federal
Courthouse/U. S. Post Office located at 120 - 12th Street. An agenda report,

II. WHITTLESEY ROAD WIDENING PROJECT CONDEMNATION
(PARCEL 2D):
Authorization is requested for the acquisition of Parcel 2D, 1680
Whittlesey Road for the Whittlesey Road Widening Project totaling 0.245 =/-
acres for Right of Way, Easement "1" for 0.105 Acres of Construction and
Maintenance of Slope & Utilities and Easement "2" for 0.071 acres=/- of
Construction and Maintenance of Slope & Utilities for County Road and/or
Municipal Street purposes, and authorizing the filing of a Declaration of

1. Warm Springs Bike Trail: Cooper Creek Bridge & Flat Rock Park Bridge ? RFB

Scope of Bid
Provide construction of bridges at Cooper Creek and Flat Rock Park. The work
includes structural and site work in accordance with the designated plans and
specifications.
2. Lakebottom Park Track & Field Resurfacing and Trench Drain Installation ?
RFB No. 10-0040
Scope of Bid
The track and field resurfacing consists of providing a polyurethane running
track surface with structural spray finish, long jump/triple jump runway and
high jump area resurfacing and related work. The City will be responsible for
demolishing and removing the existing track.
The trench drain consists of installing a pre-cast, interlocking polyester
concrete trench drainage system around the entire track. The resurfacing
contractor shall be a member of the American Sports Builders Association.

1. Demolition Services (Annual Contract) ? RFP No. 10-0012
Scope of RFP
Provide all necessary equipment, materials, transportation, and labor for
residential and commercial demolition services on an ?as needed basis? for
Columbus Consolidated Government. The contract will be for two years, with the
option to renew for three (3) additional twelve-month periods. Contract
renewal will be contingent upon the mutual agreement of the city and the
Contractor.
2. Gym System (Re-Bid) ? RFB No. 10-0044
Scope of Bid
Provide and install a commercial grade gym system to Columbus Police
Department. The system shall consist of commercial grade strength equipment,
free weight equipment, treadmills, elliptical equipment, recumbent bikes and
magnetic cycles. For the strength equipment, vendors are requested to submit
bids for both belt systems and cable systems. The separate pricing is for
budgetary comparative purposes.
For uniformity and aesthetic purposes, the Columbus Police Department will only
consider commercial grade gym systems; bid submittals consisting of multiple
equipment manufacturers will not be considered. The exception will be the
dumbbells, plates and rack.

1. Lakebottom Park Walking Trail Improvements ? RFB No. 10-0043
Scope of Bid
Provide installation of park benches, trash receptacles, and concrete handicap
ramps. Additional work includes dumping, spreading and compacting M-10
screening material and replacing treated lumber used for trail edging.
All work shall be performed in accordance with the State of Georgia, Department
of Transportation ? Standard Specifications, Construction of Transportation
Systems, 2001 Edition or as Amended and in accordance with the contract
documents.
2. Building Improvements for the Historic Train Depot (Re-Bid) ? RFB No. 10-0046
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference/Site Visit is scheduled at 9:00 A.M. (Eastern)
on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Vendors shall convene in the lobby area of the
Train Depot (Chamber of Commerce), which is located at 1200 6th Avenue,
Columbus, GA 31902. Vendors will be allowed a 10-minute grace period. Any
vendor who is not present in the lobby area of the Train Depot (Chamber of
Commerce) within 10 minutes after the time slated for the beginning of the
mandatory pre-bid conference/site visit shall not be allowed to participate any
further in the bid process.

1. Real Estate Appraisal Services (Annual Contract) ? RFP No. 10-0014
Scope of RFP
Provide real estate appraisal services for various projects involving land
acquisition and disposition on an ?as needed basis?. The contract will be for
two years, with the option to renew for three (3) additional twelve-month
periods. Contract renewal will be contingent upon the mutual agreement of the
city and the Contractor.
2. Soft Body Armor (Annual Contract) ?RFP No. 10-0015
Scope of RFP
The Columbus Consolidated Government is requesting proposals from qualified
vendors to provide soft body armor for Public Safety Officers to include:
Police, Marshal and Sheriff Departments of the Columbus Consolidated Government
on an ?as needed basis?. The contract period will be for two (2) year with the
option to renew for three (3) additional twelve-month periods.

The work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of HVAC drain pans,
electrical fixture replacement, interior and exterior painting, carpet
replacement, and interior and exterior carpentry work. The City will only
consider bids from contractors with experience in restoration work for historic
structures.
