North Lake Parking Restrictions

Introduction: During July 22nd and August 5th, 2008 Council meetings, the

Engineering Department was asked to look at other Parking Restriction

alternates to address business concerns over making North Lake Parkway a No

Parking Anytime, Tow-away zone along the North and South curbs from Veterans

Parkway to the east dead end. The Engineering Department provides the

following three updated Parking Restrictions Options for Council consideration.

Option #1 - North Lake Parkway parking restrictions

No Parking Anytime, Tow-away Zone to include right-of-way along the

south curb of from the east curb of Veterans Parkway east to the dead

end/cul-de-sac.

No Parking Anytime, Tow-away Zone to include right-of-way along the

north curb of from the east curb of North Lake Connector east to the dead

end/cul-de-sac.

Alternate #2 ? North Lake Connector parking restriction

No Parking Anytime, Tow-away Zone to include right-of-way along the

west curb from the north curb of North Lake Parkway north to the south curb of

North Lake Loop.

Alternate #3 ? North Lake Loop parking restriction

No Parking Anytime, Tow-away Zone to include right-of-way along the

south curb from the east curb of Veterans Parkway east to the west curb of

North Lake Connector.

Staff Recommendation: Approve the individual Ordinances to enact the parking

restrictions described in Alternates #1, #2 and #3. This will allow the Police

and Engineering departments to monitor parking to determine if these

restrictions solve the parking, congestion and pedestrian safety problems.
