AN ORDINANCE
NO.
An ordinance amending the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for Columbus,
Georgia so as to permit auto brokers as a permitted use in the GC (General
Commercial), UPT (Uptown), LMI (Light Manufacturing / Industrial), and HMI
(Heavy Manufacturing / Industrial) Districts.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending
Table 3.1.1 of Section 3.1 to read as follows:

Auto/Truck Broker P P P P *
Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended
by adding the following additional standards to Section 3.2,Additional
Standards Applicable to Specific Uses:
Section 3.2.8.1:
An auto/truck broker shall comply with the standards listed below:
A. Storage and/or display: The auto/truck broker shall not store or
display automobiles and/or trucks.
Chapter 13 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended
by adding the following definition to Section 13.1.1, Defined Terms:
Auto/truck broker means a person who, for a commission or with the intent to
make a profit or gain of money or other thing of value, negotiates or attempts
to negotiate the sale of a motor vehicle on behalf of another. Such term shall
not mean any person engaged in the solicitation, negotiation, or advertising of
the sale of used motor vehicles or any owner of real property who allows the
display of used motor vehicles on such property if the sale of such vehicles is
made by a used car dealer or a financial institution.
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
