AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY WEIGHT
LIMITATIONS FOR TRUCKS; AMENDING SECTION 20-9.48 "CERTAIN TRUCKS PROHIBITED BY
WEIGHT AND/OR LENGTH FROM USING ENUMERATED STREETS"; AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION
OF SIGNS INDICATING MAXIMUM WEIGHT VEHICLES; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 20-9.48 ?Certain-trucks prohibited by weight and/or length from
using enumerated streets? is hereby re-titled to read:
?Certain-trucks and other vehicles prohibited by weight and/or length from
using enumerated streets?,
And that the paragraph starting this section be amended to read:
?Pursuant to the provisions set forth in Section 9-46, it shall be unlawful for
any trucks and other vehicles exceeding the weight and/or length restrictions
designated for the streets, avenues and roadways listed below from traveling
upon the enumerated streets within Columbus, Georgia:?
And that a third sub-section be added as follows:
(3) Maximum Weight Limit 3 Tons:
Brown Avenue from Cusseta Road to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard
SECTION 2
That the official traffic control signs indicating said weight limits shall be
installed for the roadway segment described herewith in Section 1.
SECTION 3
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
