WHEREAS, Mr. James W. Austin former employee with the Columbus Fire/EMS

Department, died on February 22, 2008;

WHEREAS, Mr. Austin retired on November 1, 1993 after serving 31 years with the

Columbus Fire/EMS Department.

NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby convey to the family of Mr. James W. Austin our sincere condolences

and deepest sympathy. Mr. Austin was an outstanding employee with the Columbus

Fire/EMS Department and he will be missed by all who knew him.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Evalyne ?Mac? Turgeon former employee with the Columbus Parks &

Recreation Department, died on February 22, 2008;

WHEREAS, Mrs. Turgeon retired on June 1, 1980 after serving 24 years with the

Columbus Parks & Recreation Department.

NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby convey to the family of Mrs. Evalyne ?Mac? Turgeon our sincere

condolences and deepest sympathy. Mrs. Turgeon was an outstanding employee

with the Columbus Parks & Recreation Department and she will be missed by all

who knew her.

Department, died on February 22, 2008;

WHEREAS, Mrs. Sherman retired on January 1, 1991 after serving 18 years with

the Muscogee County Sheriff?s Department.

NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby convey to the family of Mrs. Maxine Sherman our sincere condolences

and deepest sympathy. Mrs. Sherman was an outstanding employee with the

Muscogee County Sheriff?s Department and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Attorney Victim Witness Program, died on February 24, 2008;

WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackman retired on September 1, 2005 after serving 15 years with

the Muscogee County Sheriff?s Department.

NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby convey to the family of Mrs. Gurdies Mae ?Gert? Jackman our sincere

condolences and deepest sympathy. Mrs. Jackman was an outstanding employee

with the District Attorney Victim Witness Program and she will be missed by all

who knew her.
