PARKING ISSUES:

There has been much concern on the parking situation downtown in the area of

Minnie?s Restaurant. Patrons of the restaurant are parking on the sides of the

roadways and blocking driveways to some on the residents. Let?s make sure the

customer parking area for Minnie?s Restaurant is identifiable. (Request of

Councilor Woodson)

The City Manager met with the appropriate staff to discuss the 8th Street

Parking Issues and a response has been forwarded to Mr. Dennis Stahl. There

were some sight distance issues that Mr. Stahl brought to our attention and

Traffic Engineering has corrected these issues with proper signage at various

intersections. I've also advised Mr. Stahl to contact 911 whenever he sees a

parking violation and the CPD will respond and continue to monitor the area.

He has since responded back to my email explaining our resolution and he was

appreciative of the city looking into the matter and made a request that we

also mark some of the parallel spaces on 8th Street. I've referred this

request to our Traffic Engineer for review. I assured Mr. Stahl that I would

get back with him once Traffic Engineering had an opportunity to review. We

will continue to monitor the area for violations.

Let me know if I can provide you with additional information.
