A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COLUMBUS CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT DISTRIBUTION OF
DISCOUNT PRESCRIPTION DRUG CARD AND PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS, the Columbus Consolidated Government recognizes that some citizen?s
may benefit from the use of discount prescription drug cards; and,
WHEREAS, the Columbus Consolidated Government will not endorse any discount
prescription drug program or allow the printing of the City logo on any card or
advertising material; with written authorization of the Columbus Human
Resources Director, CCG will allow any legitimate discount prescription drug
program to place their cards in designated locations within each of the 14
Columbus fire stations; and,
WHEREAS, other than the cost of display racks, there shall be no cost to the
Columbus Consolidated Government associated with any discount prescription drug
program and each such program shall be responsible for the delivery of their
cards to each fire station; and,
WHEREAS, the approved program will launch on November 1, 2009 with limited
advertising on CCGTV and a press release to the media.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the Columbus Consolidated Government will allow distribution of
discount prescription drug cards from Columbus fire stations after obtaining
approval of the Human Resources Director, as herein described.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held
