RE: HB 960 - Moratorium on Condemnations for Economic Development
Purposes
Today's Session Notes contained an update on HB 960, the Eminent Domain
Moratorium, by Rep. Steve Davis (R-McDonough) which passed out of the House
Judiciary Committee on Thursday, January 12. This bill would impose a 90-day
moratorium on all local governments from using eminent domain powers for urban
redevelopment during the 2006 Legislative Session. More detailed information

We are providing this email to city officials to alert you to the potential
consequences of this bill to your city if your city is in the process of
undertaking an economic development project under the Urban Redevelopment
Powers law. Please contact your city attorney to determine whether any action
needs to be taken to protect your city contractually.
