SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Capot Court, that portion of Capot Drive

and that portion of Admiral Drive located in Section Two, Midland Downs



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department





Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of Capot Court, that

portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in Section

Two, Midland Downs.



Background: Capot Court, that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of

Admiral Drive located in Section Two, Midland Downs has (54) Fifty-four

residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the required

specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Capot Court, that

portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in Section

Two, Midland Downs. A description of property is as follows: The street in

Midland Downs Section Two identified as Capot Court, Capot Drive, and Admiral

Drive on the plat titled "Section Two Midland Downs" Part of Land Lots 131 &

158, 9th District, Muscogee County, Georgia dated 4 August 2017, prepared by

Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., recorded in Plat Book 165, Page 172,

Muscogee County, Georgia Records.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all

dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of Capot Court, that portion

of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in Section Two,

Midland Downs.











A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO CAPOT COURT, THAT PORTION

OF CAPOT DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF ADMIRAL DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION TWO,

MIDLAND DOWNS ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Capot Court,

that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in

Section Two, Midland Downs, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated August 28, 2017 conveying to Columbus, Georgia Capot

Court, that portion of Capot Drive and that portion of Admiral Drive located in

Section Two, Midland Downs be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of

Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in

the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy

of deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this

resolution.
