SUBJECT: Acceptance of Property Donation - Intersection
Whitesville/Double Churches Road
Muscogee County School District
INITIATED BY: Felton G Grant , Right of Way Acquisition Coordinator
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of donation of
property from the Muscogee County School District for Whitesville Rd/Double
Churches Rd Intersection Improvement Project. Supporting Documents attached.
Background: The City needs Right of Way, Temporary Easement along with a
Driveway easement at this location. The Right of Way Acquisition Office
approached School District the need for this property to accomplish the above
mentioned project.
Analysis: The Muscogee County School District graciously agreed to donate
required property, understanding it would improve the traffic flow and make
things safer for children and traffic to and from schools.
Financial Considerations: The only expense will be the cost of closing, which
is covered in the funding for this project.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: NA
Legal Considerations: Council must approve the action by resolution
Recommendations/ Actions: Authorizing the City Manager to accept donation of
property from Muscogee County School District for the Whitesville Rd/Double
Churches Rd Intersection Improvement Project.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT DONATION OF PROPERTY FROM
MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE WHITESVILLE RD/DOUBLE CHURCHES RD
INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the city approached the School District about the property that the
city would need for said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Muscogee County School District graciously agreed to donate said
property understanding it would improve the traffic flow and making things more
safe for the children and traffic to and from the schools.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with the
acceptance of donated property from Muscogee County School District for the
Whitesville Rd/ Double Churches Rd Intersection Improvement Project.
