billing, documentation, and service guideline compliance, the agency received a

score of 90%,

above the state average of 86%. The complete audit report has not been

received.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT: Lyn Campbell, Clinical Director, highlighted the programs

located in the Adult Mental Health Clinic on Comer Avenue that include Intake,

Medical Services, New Horizons? Pharmacy, Counseling Center, Community Support,

and Administration. A description of services provided at each program was

presented along with pictures of staff and program sites. Board members

expressed that implementation of Open Access, that begins in January, and the

new Call Center to better handle the large volume of calls we receive, should

have a positive impact on consumers. Services for the homeless and Veterans

were also of interest. In the January Board meeting, an overview of our

Veterans First grant will be presented and David reported on a meeting held

recently for providers of Veterans services to discuss ways to collaborate,

coordinate, and improve services for Veterans.

ANNUAL BENEFIT EVENT RESULTS: The 13th Annual Benefit event was held on

November 13th at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center with Frank Thomas,

Columbus native and recent Hall of Fame inductee, as the featured speaker.

David thanked Board members who attended and reported the event was successful

both in raising awareness of New Horizons and addressing the stigma associated

with mental illness and seeking treatment. In addition, over $29,000 was

raised to benefit the Clubhouse Program for 13-18 year olds struggling with

addiction. Our next fundraiser, the Me2 Orchestra event, is planned for

Sunday, March 8th at the River Center. Some musicians diagnosed with mental

illness will perform with the orchestra and an art auction, featuring local

artist Bo Bartlett and artwork from consumers will be an added feature. A new

funding base should enhance donations and the projected overhead costs for the

event are minimal. Board members were excited to hear about this new project

that will showcase consumer talent and participation. The New Horizons

video, a Telly award winner that was produced last year, was shown to Board

members during the meeting. Cyde McQuien of Image by Design produced the

inspiring, very impressive video. Board members asked if the video could be

shown at community meetings or on television. The video is imbedded in the

new website for members to view and share with others. The video will air on

CCG TV during the holidays and may be condensed to a 30-second television ad in

the future.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: No announcements were presented.

PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comments were presented.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, M/S/P Kittye Crockett/Lawrence

the final meeting of 2014, refreshments and fellowship followed the meeting.
