SUBJECT: Temporary Use or Special Event Permit Extension to Extend
Existing Certificate of Occupancy for Star South Steaks
INITIATED BY: City Manager?s Office
Recommendation: Approval is requested to approve the request of Lois Lokey DBA
Star South to extend their Special Events Permit and host a meat sale at 3131
Manchester Expressway for thirty additional days.
Background: Lois Lokey DBA Star South would like to continue to hold their
Meat Sale in the Parking Lot of Peachtree Mall for an additional 30 days. The
Inspections & Code Department has reviewed the paperwork to ensure that
everything meets the code standards.
Analysis: According to the UDO Section 3.2.63, the Inspections and Code
Department can only issue a Temporary Use or Special Event Permit for seven
consecutive days. The City Manager may authorize one administrative extension
up to three days. The Council shall approve any event more than ten days in
length.
Financial Considerations: There are no financial obligations.
Legal Considerations: Council is eliglble to grant permission for this
Temporary Use or Special Event Permit to be extended for an additional thirty
days.
Recommendation: Approval is requested to approve the request of Lois Lokey
DBA Star South to extend their Special Events Permit and host a meat sale at
3131 Manchester Expressway for thirty additional days.

A RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE LOIS LOKEY DBA STAR SOUTH TO HAVE AN
EXTENSION OF THIRTY DAYS TO CONTINUE TO HOST THEIR MEAT SALE.
WHEREAS, Lois Lokey DBA Star South is requesting permission to continue to host
a meat sale market at 3131 Manchester Expressway; and,
WHEREAS, the Inspections and Code Department approves this request according to
our city code.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The city council grant permission to Lois Lokey DBA Star South to host their
meat sale for an additional 30 days.
