Subject Potholes

Description Have the staff to check on the problem that we are having with

fixing potholes. When we fix them and it starts raining then the pothole

redevelops; so, let?s have our staff look into that. Let?s look at the one on

Second Avenue, as well as Dawson Estates. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner

Pugh)

Response We will set up some test sites and check this problem. Some of the

problems are depending on the condition of the road. If the roads are real

old, the edge of the old part next to the repair will cause the asphalt to come

out. However, the temperature is the biggest factor it needs to be at least 50

degrees and warmer. We have to repair some potholes in colder weather because

of the amount of potholes. We have had a very heavy rainfall in the last

year.
