SUBJECT: Street Name Change
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approve the ordinance renaming Crown Circle to
Masterbuilt Court.
Background: Masterbuilt Manufacturing Inc. has recently acquired the
Georgia Crown building located at 7 Crown Circle and has requested the name be
changed to Masterbuilt Court. Masterbuilt Manufacturing Inc., owns 3 of the 4
properties located on Crown Circle. The City has received a letter from Lion
Properties, LLC (owners of the 4th property) and they have no objections to the
name change.
Analysis: This address change will only effect the properties owned by
Masterbuilt Manufacturing Inc., Lion Properties, LLC has a Milgen Court
address.
Financial Considerations: Funds from the Traffic Engineering's Budget will be
used to install new street name signs to reflect the name change.
Legal Considerations: Council must pass an ordinance approving the name change.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the ordinance renaming Crown Circle to
Masterbuilt Court.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ?OFFICIAL STREET MAP, CITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA,? BY
CHANGING THE OFFICIAL STREET NAME FOR THE SECTION OF PUBLIC ROADWAY CURRENTLY
DESIGNATED AS CROWN CIRCLE TO MASTERBUILT COURT, TO BE ONE STREET NAME
CONSISTENT WITH THE LENGTH OF ROADWAY; AUTHORIZING THE REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING
STREET NAME SIGNS LABELED AS CROWN CIRCLE TO MASTERBUILT COURT.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
The ?Official Street Map, City of Columbus, Georgia? is hereby amended as
follows:
SECTION II.
The name of Crown Circle is hereby changed to Masterbuilt Court beginning at
the east right-of-way line of Milgen Court and running easterly to the
dead-end/cul-de-sac, the entire length of roadway formerly know as Crown Circle.
SECTION III.
An official street name sign shall be erected indicating ?Masterbuilt
Court? at its intersection with Milgen Court.
SECTION IV
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
