AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.16-17, THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 2017 BEGINNING JULY 1, 2016 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2017, TO RECLASSIFY
CERTAIN POSITIONS OF THE CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Ordinance No. 16-17 and the Position Classification Plan are hereby
amended, effective January 10, 2017, to add the following reclassifications:
General Fund- Sheriff
Temporarily Reclassify One Deputy Sheriff to Major until a Major Slot Becomes
Available (position reverts back to P14 Deputy Sheriff slot upon vacancy)
Job Title: From Deputy Sheriff to Major
Pay Grade/Salary: From P14D - $37,097.39 to P23G - $72,252.47
Temporarily Reclassify One Deputy Sheriff to Jail Commander until a Jail
Commander Slot Becomes Available (position reverts back to P14 Deputy Sheriff
slot upon vacancy)
Job Title: From Deputy Sheriff to Jail Commander
Pay Grade/Salary: From P14D - $37,097.39 to P23E - $68,770.93
Position Reclassification
Job Title: From Lieutenant to Captain
Pay Grade/Salary: From P20N - $63,860.64 to P22H - $67,093.59
Two Pay Steps Increase
Job Title: Chief Deputy Sheriff
Pay Grade/Salary: From P24D - $74,058.77 to P24F - $77,807.99
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia,
held on the 10th day of January, 2017; introduced a second time at a regular
meeting held on the _____ day of _________, 2017 and adopted at said meeting by
