MINUTES # 18-08
The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Monday, May 19, 2008 at
9:00AM with Chairman William Braxton, Assessor Lawton Grantham, Assessor
Richard Stallings, Assessor Ann Grantham and Assessor Pat Hunter. Also present
was Chief Appraiser Betty J. Middleton.
Assessor Pat Hunter made the motion to approve Min#17-08; Assessor Ann Grantham
seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
The Board signed assessment corrections for real estate.
The Board approved the continuation and conservation use values for Parcel ID
077 001 001 and 076 001 048 for 2007.
The Board discussed a Development Authority Bond letter and is requesting
additional information.
The Board discussed a value adjustment for Parcel ID 068 010 006 and decided
the fair market value should remain but the local value should be adjusted.
Chief Appraiser Betty Middleton and the Board discussed an application for the
Historic Exemption for which the Preliminary Part A and Final Part B were
received at the same time. Reviewing GA Code 48-5-7.2 and the permits taken
out for this property, it does not appear that the property was improved by
50%. The Board denied the application and requests the taxpayer to furnish
receipts for expenditures for the restoration.

Met with Commercial Division Manager Linda King, reviewed and approved the
