Naming a softball field within the South Commons Complex in honor of Mr.
Charles Wright.

WHEREAS, Charles Wright was a professional softball player, as well as, an
All American softball player; and,
WHEREAS, Charles Wright had played for many of the top teams in the United
States from 1973 ? 1997 and led the Steele?s Silver Bullets in homeruns in 1986
with 503; and,
WHEREAS, he was inducted into the player category in 1999 in Dayton Beach,
Florida and was a member of the ISA World Series All Tournament Team eight
times and was named the MVP at the 1991 and 1992 series; and,
WHEREAS, on February 1, 2012 Charles Wright was selected to be inducted
into the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby designate a softball field within the South Commons Complex, to
be named in honor of Mr. Charles Wright and that the appropriate marker be
installed.
Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the members of the Wright
Family.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held
on the 10th day of July 2012 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
vote of members of said Council.
