SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Compass Trail, that portion

of Compass Drive, that portion of Honey Do Court and that portion of Honey Do

Drive located in Section Two, The Village on St. Mary's.



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that

portion of Compass Trail, that portion of Compass Drive, that portion of Honey

Do Court and that portion of Honey Do Drive located in Section Two, The Village

on St. Mary's.



Background: That portion of Compass Trail, that portion of Compass Drive, that

portion of Honey Do Court and that portion of Honey Do Drive located in Section

Two, The Village on St. Mary's has (35) Thirty-five residential lots. The

streets have been improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance

by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Compass Trail, that portion of Compass Drive, that portion of Honey Do Court

and that portion of Honey Do Drive located in Section Two, The Village on St.

Mary's. A description of property is as follows: All those tracts and parcels

of land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and

comprising of all a portion of Compass Trail, a portion of Compass Drive, a

portion of Honey Do Court and a portion of Honey Do Drive, in that certain

subdivision known as Section Two, The Village on St. Mary's, as said portions

of said streets are shown upon a map or plat of said subdivision recorded in

Plat Book 162, folio 334-335 in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: The City will assume maintenance

after the two-year warranty ends.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Compass Trail, that portion of Compass Drive, that portion of Honey

Do Court and that portion of Honey Do Drive located in Section Two, The Village

on St. Mary's.



















A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF COMPASS

TRAIL, THAT PORTION OF COMPASS DRIVE, THAT PORTION OF HONEY DO COURT AND THAT

PORTION OF HONEY DO DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION TWO, THE VILLAGE ON ST. MARY'S ON

BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Compass Trail, that portion of Compass Drive, that portion of Honey Do Court

and that portion of Honey Do Drive located in Section Two, The Village on St.

Mary's, a full description of property on said deed; and,_

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated January 14, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia

that portion of Compass Trail, that portion of Compass Drive, that portion of

Honey Do Court and that portion of Honey Do Drive located in Section Two, The

Village on St. Mary's be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council

is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the

Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is

hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
