A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Columbus Council and Muscogee County Board of Elections and
Registration have called for a referendum on July 15, 2008 to allow voters to
decide whether to impose a new Local Option Sales Tax pursuant to O.C.G.A.
Section 48-8-96;
WHEREAS, if such vote is in the affirmative, the Columbus Council desires to
use 70% of new LOST proceeds to enhance public safety and 30% for roads and
other infrastructure improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
To the extent permitted by applicable Georgia law, we hereby express our intent
to use 70% of new LOST proceeds for enhancements to public safety and 30% for
roads and other infrastructure improvements.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
8th day of April, 2008, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
