CITY ATTORNEY'S AGENDA
FOR THE MEETING OF JUNE 14, 2011
O R D I N A N C E S:
(1) 1st Reading - Property located at 4627 Milgen Road is proposed for
rezoning from LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) zoning district to GC
(General Commercial) zoning district. (7-D-11-Smith) (Councilor McDaniel) The
proposed use is a Retail Strip Center. The Planning Advisory Commission and the
Planning Department recommend denial.
(2) 1st Reading ? Text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance to
create a new special exception use in Neighborhood Commercial with additional
standards. (8-A-11-Planning Dept.)
(Councilor McDaniel) The Planning Advisory Commission recommends approval as
submitted and the Planning Department recommends approval with conditions.
(3) 1st Reading ? An ordinance adopting a budget for the fiscal Year 2012
beginning July 1, 2011 and ending June 30, 2012, for certain funds of the
Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, and appropriating the amounts
shown in each budget; and for other purposes. (Budget Review Committee)
(4) 1st Reading - An ordinance adopting non-operating budgets for the Fiscal
Year 2012 beginning July 1, 2011 and ending June 30, 2012 for certain funds of
the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, and appropriating the amounts
shown in each budget; and for other purposes. (Budget Review Committee)
(5) 1st Reading ? An ordinance providing for contributions to the Columbus,
Georgia General Government Employees? Pension Plan for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 2011 and amending the General Government Pension Plan by
confirming the percentage of the member?s average monthly earnings of two
percent in determining the amount of normal retirement pension; and for other

(6) 1st Reading - An Ordinance providing for the supplemental contributions to
the Columbus, Georgia Pension Plan for Employees of the Department of Public
Safety for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2011 and amending the Public
Safety Pension Plan by confirming the percentage of the member?s average
monthly earnings of two percent in determining the amount of normal retirement

(7) 1st Reading - An Ordinance providing for Government funding of a Death
Benefit Escrow for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2011. (Budget Review
Committee)
(8) 1st Reading ? An ordinance providing for Government funding of a Major
Disability Income Plan for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2011; and for
other purposes. (Budget Review Committee)
(9) 1st Reading ? An ordinance amending Article VII of Chapter 13 of the
Columbus Code Solid Waste Collection and Disposal by changing the guidelines
for an offset to the residential rate for low-income households; and for other
purposes. (Budget Review Committee)
R E S O L U T I O N S:
(10) Approval is requested for Addendum Extending Memorandum of Understanding
with the Muscogee County School District so as to extend time for preliminary
construction work behind the Muscogee County Library for a period of six months
from July 26, 2011 until January 26, 2012. (Request of City Attorney and City
Manager)
