I. Call to order
Dr. Wise called the Columbus Board of Health to order at 1:00pm.

II. Approval of Minutes
Dr. Wise asked if there were any questions or comments on the previous minutes
received (January 28, 2015).
Dr. Wise asked for a motion to approve the minutes. A motion was made by Dr
Lopez seconded by Mr. Hugley and approved by all members present.

III. District Health Director?s Report
Dr. Wise called on Dr. Townsend to give the Director?s Report;
1. Georgia Public Health Association meeting will be held on April 13 ? 14,
2015 in Atlanta. There is a Board of Health orientation during this meeting
span. If you are interested in attending please contact Carol Popwell.
2. NAACHO is asking to Hear our Voice ? Congress is in session. Information
provided referencing the cuts to Public Health.

IV. Financial Report
Dr. Wise called on Joanne Strickland to present the financial report to the
Board. Ms. Strickland presented the following;
1. Written copy of the financial report and overview for FY15 budget is
$5,281,396 with two revisions.
2. Expenses were $2,788,907 with an increase of $94,515 from same time last
year due to the incentive check given to staff in November.
3. Fees collected are $644,613 which is down from same time last year of
$51,668. Variance is in Client fees, Private Insurance and EPSDT fees.
4. All other program grants are on target for 7 months of operation.

V. Excused Absences Dr. Wise stated there is one Excused Absence for the meeting, Dr.
Agarwal.

motion was made by Ms. Lopez seconded by Dr. Chhokar and approved by all
members present. None
VI. Program Reports
Dr. Wise asked if there were any Program reports.
Sheila Mayfield, Clinical Nursing Director
1. Completing the Scoliosis screenings
2. We have hired 1 NP and an RN
Kristi Ludy, Environmental Health County Manager reported;
1. Annual Rabies clinic will be held on April 21st at the Civic Center parking
lot. Animal control will also be on location. Rabies vaccination is $5.00 and
City Permit is $10.00 (price increase this year)
2. We have used Magistrate Court to collect from 2 facilities fees from 2013.
We have 13 facilities that have not paid from 2014.
3. Mr. Hugley asked if the matter for the Civic Center has been resolved?
Pam Fair, PIO, Safe Kids Columbus & EP reported;
1. Media ? Measles is current topic
2. Met with School District to prepare in event a case is reported within
Columbus
